Hoax of Oak Island Cable TV Show

And while we here, on-this-thread, can see the sillyness of it, yet to the average couch potato, they don't see it. The "what if" lure of treasure psychology takes over.

One of my hunting partners and I were discussing the show one day, and ... I would have JUST ASSUMED he'd be on-the-side of skepticism (since he's a very logical fellow). I was surprised when he actually gave credence to it. Citing "unexplained this and that", blah blah. I was shocked, because this was a guy who I would have thought would have been on the side of skepticism.

So it went to remind me : Yes, it's just human nature. Even to very smart people.
It can be very surprising how sometimes people we think we know well can have sides and ideas we would never suspect. I used to get shocked at some of what I have seen over the year’s now, not so much. I’m assuming pretty much all of us humans are walking contradictions.

...... I’m assuming pretty much all of us humans are walking contradictions.

Well it beats the heck out of the alternative of : Us all being robots that think alike.

Also, remember that the conclusions we come to, for our "beliefs" is not only coming from our heads (intellect, data, science, proof, etc...). It's more often coming from our hearts (will, bias, emotion, feeling, etc...) Here's a meme I made about this :

Do you know how we stop it on the air? Boycott their advertisers. The show is a joke, its like a male version of a soap opera, just stringing people along, instead of watching trash do some research to find better places to hunt. I have 4 properties lined up for dirt hunting this year none newer than 1860 the rest older 2 being in the earl 1700's problem though if people didn't have much they most likely didn't have anything to lose, years ago I hunted with a friend a home Washington visited nothing but modern wheats and horseshoes and the estate was quite large and was written up in a paper in the town its in.

I have made friends with several historical societies who give me leads on places to hunt.... I don't even watch TV once in a while will turn on weather channel other than that I get books from library about the history of areas I want to hunt, doing that I found lots of beaches that are not beaches today but were. I don't share that info if some in hobby want to be successful its more than just buying a detector. Do the research to reap the rewards.

Read the comments ....

If I found the correct youtube episode (where a person can "read the comments" on youtube's comment section), then I think what they found is : A key. Right ?

If so, then that makes you and I rich. I mean, I've found THOUSANDS of keys in my md'ing career. Silly me I didn't know they necessarily go to nearby adjacent treasure chests. To think of all the thousands of fabulous treasures that I left behind. Tsk tsk.

Ok, this post has been replied to a bunch, and I never thought there were so many folks out there that had opinions similar to mine about Oak Island, and "experts". I have only one thing to ask, does anyone know the brand of pinpointer the guys at the table testing core samples use? I ask because they are looking for metal in the samples, but sometimes the pinpointer is pretty far from the cores, and my pinpointer only detects coin sized metal from a few inches. Just wondering.
