Haven't got a hunt in yet this year but here's my two previous finds.

The 14K I pulled out of the muck under a dock during low tide during a quick 45min hunt. Found a few coins, pulltabs, and a hot wheels to pair with it. X-terra Elite. It looks chincy to me but acid test came back good. Happy 13 anos to me.

Silver ring is .925 and pulled it out of a seperate 4hr hunt on the beach. Was entirely black with oxidation. Quiet day besides. Equinox 900.

Question? Do you still have the stock 12" coil on your unit or did you replace it with another coil? Asking because I am trying to decide if I should change to the 11" coil

Coming back to this - what are you looking to gain by swapping to the 11”? I’d thought about doing the same but ultimately decided to put the coil money toward a used 900 instead 😂

I was looking for something with better separation and a bit lighter to swing. I pick up every bit of junk in the sand now with the 12" but I'm thinking it wont be much of a big difference. But the weight difference and may be better in the water.

The 8x5 that comes with the expedition pack is what ended up staying on my elite. Feels much lighter and i think it has great separation. And for sure easier to swing in the water

I’ll test the 11” on the elite soon. Always been curious about that combo.

The V8X coil does check all those boxes of being lighter, better target separation, easier to swing in the water. It’s a lot of fun to swing but I always find myself going back to the v12x for more coverage.

Electroysis, using aluminum foil and baking soda in hot (I use boiling) water, can remove very heavy tarnish with repeated use, and repeat and repeat. Really no need for abrasives. Be careful which pan you use - Wife still mad at me for ruining one of hers...needed to be replaced, anyways...

Might also want to look into the V10X coil as well. Smaller than the 12", but a bit bigger than the 8" so a bit better coverage and depth. Might be the best of both worlds for your needs.

The silver ring photo is after a few rounds of alum foul + baking soda + boiling water. A dab of Mothers mag polish after.

Defiantly let me know what you think about the 11" if and when you try it. I am really curious.
