Gold Chain dilemma

I found this gold chain today with a military tooth notched dog tag and yes, no one would have past this one cause it was in tact with the dog tag attached,,,.however, I do find at least one or two gold chains a year with no pendant and relatively small chains,,,,I have found them both, with my Excal and seemingly more with my Manticore,,,,whenever I show or post them there is always people that want to argue that “you only found it cause the pendant”,,,then they want to say well when you tested it,,,,,it was not in salt water or it was only wet sand and not water,,,,that is not true and many good hunters I know have also have found them that way,,,,,,I fully believe in correct settings and it is not the machine it’s the person behind the machine,,,the last picture is gold chains I have found other than some that I have given away to family or sent to melt,,,thoughts????? Gl hh

I wouldn't care what people thought. I don't detect for others entertainment and don't need their negative comments. I show others what I find because hopefully they appreciate the find and the effort put in, same as I would for them when they make a great find.
Unfortunately a lot of jealousy out there though and just because they say something as a fact doesn't make it so.

The Manticore is a Gold Chain killer. Most of my Gold chain finds do not have a pendant attached. Most people do not hunt with the best set-up to find gold chains.

You don't need to find tiny chains, your chains you find are way more impressive Felix... The Nox was made to find small dinky chains

Yeap, very correct,,,,,bottom line is if you found it, you found it, either with a metal detector in the water, or lying in a parking lot,,,,,,

I think a lot of the naysayers or those that judge probably aren't serious hunters, they're probably more along the lines of "armchair quarterback" types. Those of us who have been around a long time and who actually hunt all know what it's like to get skunked, or to find nothing but trash, or we found Silver and catch crap because it wasn't Gold. I'll never criticize another hunter's finds, because I've been there and know how much research, work and effort it takes to make some good finds, so I'll always give a hunter a thumbs up and congrats for their finds.

Probably all goes back to when I was a kid. I went to a military school from 1st - 8th grade, and all my teachers were nuns. One day, our football team was playing another school's team. I was standing on the sidelines in uniform and one of two of our guys were making snide comments about the other team. Totally normal behavior during a game, but one of the nuns came over and said to us "cheer for your team, not against the other team". I've never forgot that.

100% agree there are a few things to do setting your machine up that will help to hear them and I got 3 last year and none had any kind of pendant on them,,,,gl hh
