Just for change of pace, I decided to recirculate back to a location which was a school that I had not been to for a very long time, I am glad I did, I broke the ice and recovered my first silver for the year! And it was a close one too, a '64 dime. It was about 8" deep with a faint signal.

And I found some clad lunch money to sweeten the day too.

Congrats on uncovering your first silver for the year! :clapping: It's always nice when we can find a good amount of clad, too.

Congrats! Now that you broke the ice FTY, the rest should come easy!

Congrats on silver #1 FTY John. My first was also a squeaker,a just made it 64. Silver is silver and you're off. Your 64 looks way better than the one I dug. Nice job on the clad as well. Good luck. Mark

Congrats on your first silver for the year! :woot:
Thank you both for your kind words! It certainly has been a challenge for me finding this first silver. But then again, I'm always grateful for the clad that finds its way underneath my coil. John

Thanks Saker! Literally, thank goodness for this unseasonal warmer weather or I probably would have had to really break the ice to finding that one. Now I feel like I can breath a little easier since I got that one out of the way. John

Thanks Mark! Finally, I strike silver. With all the hundreds of coins I have found so far this year, it was about time for this lonely coin surfaced! And it wasn't a good signal either. I was glad the ground was moist to help amp the signal. I see you are off to a good start with #8. Hopefully, we'll both have another rewarding year! John

Don't be so disgruntle John, you are one up on me for the year but then again we still have about a foot of snow covering the ice block under it. From what it looks like presently I'll get out in 5 or 6 weeks.Anyway big congrats on the Rosie. Trapper

Thanks Trapper! Finding that first silver fty sure makes me breath a lot easier. Like all of us, we always wonder when will that first silver happen. For the past couple of days in my area we got into the single digits with the cold. And now I'm thinking the ground is pretty much frozen-up solid. Hopefully, the sun will warm it up enough so that I can return to digging. The weather in PA is nothing extreme like what you guys get I'm sure. Anyway, if its clad or silver, I will take it all. John
