Hit the beach again today with the TDI, wanted to test out the Nugget Finder 15" Mono Coil. Hit an older beach that has low sand from the swells we had recently. No rocks, just a low beach. Got into a nice low spot, and started pulling up random jewelry. Got a thin 14k gold chain (1.61 grams) that barely gave a whisper of a signal, and no signal when out of the hole. Also got a gold tooth (1.04 grams), 2 little silver pendants, and another chain (3.63 grams) that I hope is 10k, but it may be brass or something. Ordered more acid to test it.

Thanks for looking!

Nice gold hits Crumble... have you ever been back to that beach that was all rocks you posted about years ago?

What is that thing that looks like a hanger?

Sadly, that beach didn't get any good erosion. It faces a different direction than most of the other beaches.

The hanger thing is part of the necklace. Hoping it is old 10k, but looks a little iffy.

:dingding:Productive! Very interesting how the chain wouldn't sound out of the hole.

You can forget the chain with hanger... its garbage, all pitted...

Congrats on the gold! :hi5:

That is actually a tie chain. You put the little hanger loop over your dress shirt button and run your tie through the chain, to keep your tie from flopping around. Yours looks like it's probably plated over brass.

 They are particularly useful in the sense of keeping your tie from hanging down if you bend over to pick something up, or keeping it out of your lunch, but a lot of it is for looks, too. There are quite a variety of styles, some that just clip your tie to your shirt with, others are pins...

What are dress shirts and ties?

 Well, according to Wikipedia:
A dress shirt, button shirt, button-front, button-front shirt, or button-up shirt, is a garment with a collar and a full-length opening at the front, which is fastened using buttons or shirt studs. A button-down or button-down shirt is a dress shirt with a button-down collar – a collar having the ends fastened to the shirt with buttons.

A dress shirt is normally made from woven cloth, and is often accompanied by a tie, jacket, suit, or formalwear, but a dress shirt may also be worn more casually.

;) Who wears a tie at the beach? Must have been nerdy type like Tom
C'mon Craig! A guy wearing a tie goes to the beach late at night after a few drinks with with an attractive girl...one thing leads to another...and the tie chain gets lost. You're a smart guy use a little bit of imagination! ;)

This are the 2 main tie clips nerdy me uses now although I have a few more.
