My wife and I recently headed over to the Seattle / Tacoma area to visit, and I had several days to detect the local area. My first day out was a solo trip, beep-beeping for about 6 hours, nice weather. Turned out to be a good day, with 2 Silver Washington quarters and a Silver Rosie. A neat find that rang up in the low 90s on my AT Pro was a clad dime stuck to a clad Kennedy Half! Other cool finds were a 1930s Tacoma School District #10 bus token, a 50 cal slug, 2 infamous WA State tax tokens, a couple of suspender clips, and the usual wheat cents, copper memorials and clad.
My next day out, I was able to meet up with Buellride (Paul) and we tried an area of Tacoma. A tuff day detecting, I snagged the only silver, a Rosie, along with a very nice 1897 Indian Head Cent from a yard permission. Another neat find was a Pastime / Card / Room aluminum token from Tacoma, along with the dime, both were from curb strips. Other finds included a Sacajawea dollar coin, and some odd brass / copper items, along with more clad.
The next time detecting was with RainorShine (Gale) and Paul, along with friend Ron. All four of us did score silver coins... Ron had a nice Merc Dime, Paul got a Merc and Silver Washington from one yard, Gale pulled a beautiful Sterling Spoon ring, a Merc and a Silver Rosie from curb strips, and I ended up with 5 silvers... 1905 Barber Dime, a Merc, 2 Silver Rosies, and a Silver Washington quarter. Oddball finds included a 5 cent trade token, a brass Apothecary weight, Chuck E. Cheese token, and a rifle cartridge hanging from a chain! Also the usual coppers, wheat cents, and more clad.
I was able to get out one more time before returning to Idaho, only Paul could make it this time. We started in on the curb strips, finding just the odd wheat cent, no silvers for quite a while. Finally, at the end of one street, I got a steady 84-85 on the AT Pro, and was delighted to dig a 1907 Republic of Honduras 25 cent coin, great images on the coin, I had never found one before. A bit later, Paul got a great permission for us, we split up the yard, as the permission getter gets to pick which side he wants. Well... turned out that Paul's side had some WA State tax tokens, a nice Merc Dime, wheat cents, and a really cool (damaged) BUDWEISER SALOON token from Tacoma. It turned out that my side of the yard ended up having the silver coins... 2 Silver Rosies, 2 Merc Dimes (including a XF-AU 1916-S), a Silver Washington Quarter and a Silver War Nickel. The nearby curb strips produced a STERLING marked small earring, and a cool M G over Crossed Rifles military pin.
I had a fun and enjoyable time digging with some of the Western WA guys, and am grateful to have done really well! I ended up with 16 Silver coins, one Sterling earring, one Indian Head Cent, 25 Wheat Cents, 61 Clad Quarters, 46 Clad Dimes, and 1 Jefferson Nickel. I passed up literally hundreds of shallow copper memorials and zincolns, along with pretty much all mid-tones as the curbs had a ton of trash. I am glad the AT Pro is rock solid on target ID, allowing me to pass up these shallow coins. Pictures follow, not showing all the clad, wheat and copper cents. Thank you for your interest!

)! Your luck when you come over the Cascades is always amazing, when we struggle to find 1 or 2 silvers on a hunt, you find 7 
; your incredible abilities as a detectorist and the knowledge of your machine is totally unmatched (you are easily the best detectorist I have ever known)....I loved that last day with you because I got to see your successes/finds firsthand (albeit I should have taken the "left" side when I called you) 
Congrats on the shiny and all of the other cool items you found. You are now easily out pacing me and my silver count, maybe at 100 already, given that I am at 63 coins/81 items for the year. Until next time David. HH and GL
