Creek hunting with the Manticore

Only recently go back out hunting but creeks only. We have been in a drought so dirt detecting is really impossible. The creeks however have always treated me well when the water is low. Hunted a few days in the water next to a local bridge that had given up two 1700’s LC’s, six KG’s and two 14k rings in the last 2 years using my NOX. Now using my Manticore I’m back at it. 2 trips there so far has given up 16 clad coins but nothing old yet. However, I’m getting really good targets waaay deeper than the NOX did. So deep that I walked away from a few yesterday after getting tired of digging in the gravel and river rocks and having the current fill em back up. Anyway, I pulled this from 11” down yesterday. Nothing fantastic but just emphasizing how good the Manticore is!

Cool find ! It’s nice that you have the option of creek hunting and are taking advantage of it.

The Manticore performance sounds incredible.

I have invested quite a bit of bucks in my Nox 600 , between coils ,coil ear stiffeners, a coil repair kit for my 15” ,shafts and other things and I now feel pretty content and confident with it.

I would hope for the price of the Manticore they will have addressed these issues.

The last couple of my hunts have been with an older Fisher F5 and I am really pleased with its performance and how well it is built. If I would have bought one many years ago I would’ve probably never upgraded.

I also like my Whites M6, and Vanquish440 (a bit of a battery muncher ).

Hey Dr Dirt I used a NOX 600 for 3 years and found lots of old coppers and 16 gold rings hunting dirt and a drained lake. That machine ain’t no joke but the Manticore is definitely deeper.
