Buddy and I went to a spot where we have hunted multiple times. Not many targets but when found they are usually good ones.
This site was an old fairground that has been detected for years and is now a corn field.
Hunted for an hour and a half before the first coin. Buddy recovered a 1868 2 cent in nice shape. (no pics to share)
About an hour later a found my first - the 1904 Barber dime. Yeah 2 1/2 hours for my first good target. Happens a lot where we hunt as we hunt beat up fairgrounds quite a bit. But were both willing to put in several hours for a coin.
Then later pulled a decent 1875 IHP.
We had about enough as we were both sore and were about to turn and head back up the field and I had a real screaming quarter signal. Called buddy over and he swung over it with his coil and said- silver. The signal was so strong and solid anyway it was approached.
Dug the plug and swept over it and it was in there. Used the pin pointer and with the depth being less than 3" I was expecting a clad washington.
Was happy to see the silver shine and recovered a 1893 Barber.
Buddy didn't get silver this trip but did score the 2 cent and a couple of IHPs.
