A short hunt today with no success. I opened the power liftgate on my 2020 Ford Escape, leaned the detector against the back bumper while i pulled off my gloves and unbuckled my finds pouch... maybe I was a little slow, but I hear a tone sound three times then the gate starts coming down on me and my Nox. I pushed my shoulder against it expecting it to stop or reverse when it felt resistance but it kept going. I ducked out and grabbed the detector but it was a close shave. Think this happened once before and I snatched it clear right away but this time my hands were full when it started. I find this amazing because it you have any object close to the door seal the thing will stop coming down until you move it, but in self-closing mode it seems to not have any safety feature.

Maybe get a stick to prop it from falling.

Apparently this thing has the "Swing your foot under the bumper" feature to open/close the liftgate. Maybe I triggered it although I had trouble doing that on purpose yesterday.
