Barn Find from 1919

I was repairing an old barn today and found this lying in the dust of the dirt floor. I didn't think it was a license plate at first as it is larger than modern plates. I thought it was a small metal sign but a little clean up brought out the details. Tennessee didn't start making plates till 1915. You had to make your own from 1905 through 1914.

That is really cool, there is companies that restore those too. Make them look brand new. Nice find!

Nice! Around here expired plates were often nailed over holes in barns and sheds, sometimes even tin advertising signs.

Thanks Ya'll. I'm gonna clean it a little then clear coat it. I'm gonna display it with my '42 I did the same way.
