American Military Belt Plates: O'Donnell & Campbell - look-up please.

Would anyone be willing to look-up and provide background information regarding this item (3.75" high x 3.5" wide - solid brass) I dug a couple of years ago? It is illustration #746. Any info - size, construction (tin with back fill of lead?), years. Any details would be appreciated. Thanks!

Cool find clean it up and put it on the wall. Looks like a hat badge of sorts. Way to go and keep swinging.

Thanks for the google search. Yes, there are many of the seal of New York City hat badge photos, but this is a bit different. The position of the wing over and just touching the head of the indian is only shown and in a few instances and always attributed to the "New York City Guard" militia. Dimensions are also smaller than my find. Was hoping information in O'Donnel and Campbell book might help id the larger version's use. I've found a smaller version of this on "Relicman.com" and also a couple of other on-line sites but always smaller. Smaller versions appear to be shoulder belt plates.

Thanks for looking. Yes it's nice! Smaller versions of this style (with wing just touching top of indians head) seal of New York City are on "New York City Guard" militia shoulder belt plates. Not sure what the larger version would have been used for.
