Yesterday about 6:30 pm, the Queen called KT from our local grocery store. Seems they are running a special until 8 pm, gasoline at their self serve pumps, when one uses their Market Card, is 20 cents off per gallon! So KT hopped in the Royal Coach and zipped in their to get his Royal Discount! HA HA KT got a fill up, 7.6 gallons, for 3.25 per gallon! Usually KT buys gasoline there on Mondays because when using their Market Card, you not only get a nickel off per gallon, but mid-grade is the same price as regular, so KT treats the Royal Coach to a big gulp of better grade gas! These pumps are typically 10 cent/gallon cheaper than any place else within miles! The Queen also got a fill up! HA HA

When I still lived in CA (also in Placer Co.) I was what they referred to as a "super-commuter." I made a round trip (home / work) of nearly two hundred miles a day, five days a week. I would never have been able to continue at my job with gas that expensive (and I know it was worse in the Bay Area). I retired in 2019.

Yikes, Sorry, GroundSweeper, but KT is glad His Majesty is not in California. Gas this year never got over $3.99 at the local station close to The Royal Castle! KT would be riding his Royal Steed a lot more! HA HA

And Fe Man, KT's Royal Commute to work was 11.5 miles, and KT had 4 ways to get there, none via the Freeway! But if KT left at 6:55 am, He was there by 7:20 am, thus having time for a cup of Java and a quick look at the local newspaper. If KT left at 7:05, He was doing good to get there by 8:05! Did that run for 39 years, 5 days a week, before retiring in November of 2013. His Majesty missed all the people, but not the hassle. The job had gone from a self directed one to a supervisory position and meetings a couple times a week, what a PITA! KT has never looked back!

When I still lived in CA (also in Placer Co.) I was what they referred to as a "super-commuter." I made a round trip (home / work) of nearly two hundred miles a day, five days a week. I would never have been able to continue at my job with gas that expensive (and I know it was worse in the Bay Area). I retired in 2019.

I do 100 miles a day, 2 days a week post covid. It was 3x a week prior. I count my lucky stars when it comes to that at least. congrats on retirement.

Glad to see you retired after Covid, Fe Man. KT was mostly Castle bound during that 18 month stretch, even my church was shut down! KT did his best to keep a few of his Royal Favorite lunch spots open during that stretch and managed to keep them open though those troubled times!

Thank you KT. I would have loved a 11.5 mile commute back then. I did retire just when Covid was starting to make itself felt ( a coworker was featured on the news as he was one one of the first cruise ships to have been quarantined in the initial phase of the pandemic). Always good to hear from Royalty.

Yesterday my local grocery store pumps had regular for 3.19 per gallon, and with their Monday special, I bought a fill up for the Royal Coach of mid-grade for the same price as regular! Woop Woop!
