Almost bought a new phone.

The charging port quit working on my Samsung $800 phone my wife got me.
I was going to buy a $200 phone but next door is a battery store tha repairs phones so I asked for an estimate and after cleaning the port it works! I asked how much? She said free!! Not bad.
I said thank you!

Nice outcome. The port on my work iPhone (12) quit working, I had it cleaned out, it used to work if I wiggled the cord just right etc. gave up and switched to magnet charging.

KT uses a magnetic charger that Prince John furnished when He got KT’s phone. Never thought about charging with a cord, so no port problems.

Weak link on cell phones to be sure! Surely that pricey Samsung has inductive charging too?

I'm into my 6th year with my Motorola -- "always" being very careful with the charging port, but I fully expect it to wear out before anything else. This one doesn't have inductive charging to fall back on, so when it goes, it's probably new phone time rather than fixing it. I also avoid fast charging -- my battery is still about 80% of new, which is about 2-3 days for me, more than adequate.
