Don't let anyone tell you that the "find a hunting buddy" forum doesn't work, I'm here to tell you IT DOES. I posted in there looking for some connections here in an area I'm new to and found Louisianamudbug aka Gene. We hooked up for a hunt on a piece of land (public park) near me that turns out was a plantation from the 1850's a couple weeks ago and you've seen the finds from there. This time Gene invited me to a park near him. This park was active in the 1940's right up until today and I figured it had to have some Silver in it. And I'm sure it still does. We barely scratched the surface so-to-speak. I'm planning on many more hunts here (even though it's an hour away) so stay tuned!

This hunt produced just near modern coins, all below 5 inches deep. Date ranges are from 1978 to 2018 on what I found this trip, but the soil is FULL of Iron and trash and I had my 11 inch coil on for this one, next time it will be the 6 inch coil. But I was amazed at the CTX3030 ferreting out the coins from all the trash with such a big coil on. So without further adieu...

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

It sounds like the two of you had a fun trip! One of the things I enjoy most about metal detecting is that it's a hobby I can share with others... in my case, my favorite hunting buddies are my family members (@Wolf-Dog, @Torpedo, @Lost&Recovered 😄), but I also appreciate the camaraderie I've experienced with other detectorists here on the forum. I hope that you & @Louisianamudbug have plenty more enjoyable hunts together!
