  • Today's hunt re-covered the same ground where gold was found for three days in a row, but not today.

Among the targets recovered are many old, small and in nearly every case difficult to recover items.
A few more hours, maybe 20 or so, will allow me to finish putting a Dual Field, Diablo whoopin on the rest of this small hunting ground and I'll then move on until time and tide make more changes tipping the gold odds again I my favor.

Spotlight on today's interesting targets recovered include 5-.22 Caliber bullets and 1- cartridge case (.22 Short), 1- Merc and 1-silver ring. There are also a couple of Junker rings of unknown composition.

Today's junk metal nearly balanced out in numbers with the keeper's pile.

Another day in a Hunter's Life!!

    CJ

They were removed from a local beach less than a half mile from my home! (As a crow flies!) Most of my posted finds came from several of these beaches as the result of my "other life", being a treasure hunter! This life has occupied thousands of hours over the years since 1982 and I don't regret one minute of the time spent, mostly wading in Long Island Sound! The earlier years were the most productive and used up whatever free time I could find in my busy days as a self-employed plumbing repairman!
These piles would have been a bit higher if they included the 50 rings I returned to their owners! (More stories I enjoy telling!!)

I had no camera or computer during the first half of those years and only have memories to share for them.

Good luck and happy hunting Fellow Hunter,

CJ

Yeah , well let's hear some stories where you got screwed over on returns. Like not even a ty , etc.

I got a door slammed in my face and was told I was invading the thing that answered the door.. after that I promised myself I would never try a return again... if they don't want to lose it, then don't wear it to a beach...

Years ago, while driving along near a local shopping plaza I saw a wallet on the road and quickly stopped, flagged traffic and picked up the wallet!
It had some money in it and a few food stamps and a driver's license. I found the address a few miles away in my small town and drove there.
A young woman answered my knock, grabbed the wallet and slammed the door in my face!! I was, at first stunned, but not really surprised as in my day-to-day experiences dealing with people as a plumber had taught me lessons on mankind just about every day! I have come to believe that any day that doesn't teach you something new has been a wasted day!!

One of my finds years ago, a high-school ring, as best as I can remember was returned by a young woman who said she knew the owner. I never received a thank you from either of the persons!!

These tales are true and the only ones I experienced!!

A couple years ago Lew, I found 3 wallets and 3 phones... people today have so much on their minds which is there problem they don't know how to compartmentalize things.... each wallet had between $117 and $1500 in them and I called police who told me to give them their drivers license number and they would call me back.. 5 minutes later cop calls me back told me to wait where I was, he would meet me then we would wait for owner... each one offered me a reward, I refused all 3... the guy with the $1500 was young guy but I could tell he was loaded... nice car, really nice wallet lol... the 3 phone returns were easy was able to access the phones and call the owners or a family member, again refused rewards except for 1 woman.. she just had a baby she wasn't going to take no for an answer, very nice, we chit chatted she asked me where I found it and I told her in the middle of the street I was on which was near a food store... she told me she put phone of SUV and forget it as she was putting baby in special seat... anyway she had just baked fresh brownies for her husband and gave them to me lol...
