3D printing

I've seen some thing turned out on a 3D printer that blows the mind. Show some pics of your things you have made would be cool to see.

Here's a few. All of these are my design. I like to give things contour instead of the 'blocky' look. Takes a lot more time...but looks cool. Probably another reason I haven't been swinging the coil lately.

Thats pretty handy. I remember yearsssss ago, they said every household would have a 3d printer.. if u need a fork u can just print one type concept.
Along with “smooth-on” mold making stuff u can print and cast just about anything u need.

Hello Florida Tabdigger. This is the software I use. I then import the STLs into a slicer and then send them to the printer. I don't have my own printer at the moment, but there are also nice people who can print the parts for me. (Printing service)

Hello Vito, I use FreeCAD and Blender. Blender mostly. I get carried away in designing and end up simplifying it afterwards...KISS (keep it simple stupid) :) My kayak trolling motor project started out with 12v actuators for trim, tilt, and steering, but the more I considered what I wanted, the more I scaled it back to a simpler stylish design. I may use it for another motor I have (much bigger). I would probably do a test print for fitment and send the files to be printed in aluminum. PETG is plenty strong for the tiny motor I'm using now. PCBway seems to be a reputable place for specialized prints. Who do you use?

Hi Tabdigger. Right at the moment I don't have a favorit printing service.
A few friends own 3D printers, and if I need to print something quickly, one of them can help me. For large, professional parts, I would have to get quotes depending on the material and quantity.
The last order was printed in PLA and is holding up very well. If it needed to be more stable, I'd have them use ABS.

I'm pretty good at model making if anyone has a need for something. Recently I've been making kayak motor mounts and speaker pods for car audio for myself and buddies at work. This is a hobby. I already have a good job...I just like making stuff.
Florida TabDigger, I'm in Jax. I'm in need of a battery door for a Tesoro Silver Sabre. Its the one that has a single push lock to hold in place.

I can't even find an image of this battery door. I built what I thought would fit, and it does, but I would prefer something that doesn't fall out and needs tape to help.

I can take images of my machine, and dimensions of the battery opening, (I do own a caliper.) I hope you can help. And my work has a printer.

I'm glad I found this thread 2 years after. <sigh>

I'm not FTD, but may be it also helps.
Basically, all you need is a thin sheet of aluminum. Cut it slightly larger than required and add a Z-bend to the top. You'll also need to drill a hole for the nylon strap. After sanding and painting it, you'll have a perfectly new door. This photo is the only usable one I could find online.

What kind of printers are you guys using? I recently picked up the new Bambu Labs P2S with the AMS 2 Pro. So far I really like it. The Bambu Studio slicer is great, and being integrated with MakerWorld is convenient. For modeling my own designs, I use Fusion.

That's eggs actly what we got at work for a 'first' 3d printer. We got the full enclosure and a 4 spool holder with a 5th on the side. 10x10x10 is the dimension size.
