A few weeks ago we did a friend's mom's house. The friends house yielded multiple old coins 4 years ago. This house had similar age but we had no clue if it had been gone over before. The first time we were there we found an Indian head and a wheat. It was ok but we felt like there should be more there. We really did it later in the day and didn't get a chance to finish it. Today we went back. 3" of rain this week made for perfect digging and wet knees. Within 30 minutes I had 3 holes with multiple wheaties in them. The last one I put back the plug and noticed that I had missed the 44' war nickel! My wife ended up finding the rosie on the property line under a grape vine. The thimble was our last find. It has initials which is cool. Going to try to find out who lived there 150 years ago. I included the milk glass mason jar lid in the picture because it's the first one with a cross I've found. They aren't common here. We usually get ones with circles. I had to put barkeepers friend on the salve container to read it ,with relief. I've included an internet picture of what it would have looked like. The weather is supposed to be perfect this week so I'm hoping to get some good hours swinging.

I like old vintage sterling silver thimbles, with scrimshaw writing/etchings . Good show ! Reminiscent of an era when people stil sewed and fixed clothing, before our modern "throw-away" era.
