And now MineLab has another Announcement

Maybe a P I or a dumbed down, less expensive version of the Manticore. It does make you wonder. In the mean time I would be happy if Minelab would post the manual so we could at least start to learn about it. Mark

Is this not about the Manticore? As in the 2nd iteration of Multi-IQ. It's definitely more cryptic than it needs to be if it's about the Manticore release date.

It just wouldn't really make sense to me for them to tease another detector right as they are launching one. It better not be the new CTX rendition or I might be a little pissed considering I pre-ordered the Manticore already, would feel a little dirty to announce another, better detector before I even got the first one.

That makes two of us!

Yeah, I might keep my Manticore in the box until I know what this other detector is (if it even is another detector).

I mean, $2000 is a lot for an incremental upgrade, but I could justify it for the 2D screen and better EMI mitigation, a bit more depth, etc. But if they are gonna release a new CTX 3030 II, which also will have a 2D screen, and presumably perform better, then it will leave a pretty sour taste in my mouth.

Such a hypothetical detector wasn't made yesterday, so Minelab, intentionally and strategically choosing to announce it mere days before the Manticore is alleged to ship feels like a slap in the face a bit. It definitely would damper my excitement for the Manticore quite a bit, and position it as a irrelevant incremental upgrade over the Equinox 800 that I already own.

Agree 100%. If this turns out to be the case, it would definitely be intentional. First thing I'll do is attempt to cancel my Manticore order.

This sounds like the BITCOIN fiasco to me.

I'll keep my 20 year old Excals and Sov.

Now's the time for Silicone Valley, CNN and DLM ( Detecting Lives Matter) to protest , picket and cancel ML !

The announcement provided exactly 0 details, but my imagination has already dreamed up several hypothetical scenarios for me to be outraged about! Somebody must pay for this!

Haha, but seriously, speculating is fun :)

Hmm, if you are referring to that area of high technology companies located SW of the San Francisco Bay area, it is "Silicon Valley". Although they do some pretty expensive implants there, they are not silicone implants. :D

The 2022 annual report said the following,

"Development of several new metal detector
products has progressed well and we are on
track for late first half FY23 product releases."

You caught it !!! I did that on purpose. Because like CNN , the Valley is full of "boobs".

Perhaps the long awaited glow in the dark, uranium powered bluetooth gps enabled survival pinpointer ??

Something else is happening on 1 December 2022???

Good things come in 2s?

Just tells us when the Manticore is shipping....unless it is a replacement for the CTX?

Hey Bull, Accurate Calls brings up a good point. What if instead of having a less expensive version of the Manticore they are announcing a replacement for the CTX at a 2,000 + price tag. I imagine a lotta people would be upset to say the least. Kinda doesn't make sense but on the other hand they might be trying to fill in the 1,500and 2,500 price slots. I held off getting a CTX because of the rumors. I guess we'll see Dec. 1st. Mark

I tend to agree that a CTX replacement wouldn't make any financial sense for ML. maybe a new pinpointer to go slong with the Manticore....or a new gold specific machine. Who knows...we'll all find out on the 1st.

Actually on reflection, I looked at the page posted, It said Good things come in two's and then it said Better The Second Time Around. Makes me think the second time around could also mean they have updated the Equinox and incorporated some of the Manticore's features. Maybe

Manticore was a stand alone detector no new manticores coming out just this one. sube
