Hey everyone!
I'm a complete newbie to metal detecting but archaeology, history, and antiques have always been interesting to me. I bought a Bounty Hunter Time Ranger on sale from Radioshack (had it shipped to APO), a pinpointer, and a trowel in Feb. I've only used it twice in my backhyard and in the field behind my house. I would love to find a MD club or some hunting partners in the area that wouldn't mind a novice tagging along. Thanks in advance for your advice!

So I went out on Friday behind a friend's place who lives in Hauptstuhl. There was an overgrown area with 2 apple trees that I thought would be worth a look. I got some good practice with my new equipment and feeling much better about them! I also read the manual again and started reading "the urban treasure hunter" by Michael Chaplan.

Anyway, interesting finds were a couple of toy cars, one of which was pretty solid in construction and looks older than the rest. Made by a company in Great Britain. I also dug up a copper? ring that looks like my wedding ring, but it's probably just a pipe fitting. Fun stuff!
