Nice haul. When I look at everyone's pictures I am just so thankful our soil is so much kinder to the coinage. Pennies we find here generally come out of the ground the same as when they were dropped. No wonder there is no excitement about non-silver items in other areas of the planet.

There's plenty of excitement over non silver items around here, one of my favorite dug relics is a War of 1812 Artillery button. We ALL love our relics, no matter how clean or crusty...The copper coins, it depends on a lot of factors, their condition, but generally, Northeast soil isn't too kind to them. In this particular location, the fill dirt has done the damage, along with poor drainage. A couple weeks ago I was digging Wheats out of a schoolyard 10 miles away that were coming out in great condition for around here, a different kind of fill dirt was used...
