Default Western Illinois/Eastern Iowa

I'll be new to metal detecting this spring but thought I'd post my location for future reference. I'm in the Quad Cities area but can easily travel to the surrounding areas.

Kurt

We belong to the I&I club in Bettendorf. They are a nice bunch of people. They meet the first Thursday in the month. You can come to the meeting as a guest anytime. They have a website, just google I&I metal detecting club. Good luck and hope to see you at a meeting. Steve & Kathy

Welcome to the forum Kurt. I'm just down the highway from you about 70 or 80 miles. We've done a couple of group hunts and hope to do a couple more next summer. You are sure welcome to join us. There are a couple of other forum members in your neihborhood as well.

Good to hear. There is a 100 year old park across the street from my house where, at one time, there used to be at least two concrete steps heading towards what used to be Moline Public Hospital. I'm sure any locals have already been there- but can't wait to check it out.

We went to Fejervary Park in Davenport last Friday. A very large old park with a lot of hills. We got a work out finding about $6 in clad, 2 wheaties, a old lock and a 5 cent casino token from Rock Island.

Sounds like a site with promise. Good luck, wish I had time to run down there and hunt it with you.

Nice. I hadn't even thought about detecting around the public areas near the casinos.
