Default Lunchenit at the beach

Here's my first finds with the new Infinium. Stopped off at Baker beach just on the south west side of the Golden Gate Bridge in S.F. I'd stopped here before with my GTP and could'nt search even in the dry sand due to it's mineralization content. I tried de-tuning the unit to the point of 2 on sensitivity and manually went through all the discrimination mode with no luck (did take it to Santa Cruz beach and worked without a hitch). To discribe the beach it is very dark brown in color and at a closer glance the sand is courser with alot of black specks mixed in. So Enters the Infinium. As I placed it on the ground (using 10X5 DD) and started it up I was sure I'd have to do some major tuning to get it up an running. Fired it up the four beeps told me it was good and charged. Put it on hold and adjust the threshold, and it was quiet. Didn't adjust anything, it was ready to go. I was amazed. With all the hoopla of the noise that I'd be enduring to get the depth I wanted was dismissed. I felt relaxed, looking across the bay at the out streched Golden Gate Bridge and the light house point. The wind blowing and the surf breaking and locating targets. My deepest find was the dime at 14 inches. The only jewelry find was a dream catcher earing. Very little in the way of pull tabs, but plenty of imported beers. It rounded out a $1.65 with the dollar being a Susan B Anthony. May need to come back when I can stay longer. Rick

That's a good start with the machine. The thing about detecting at the beach is that, like it or not, trash is part of the game if finding gold is the desire.

I have to admit, the diggin is so much better in the sand!!! I'll be more willing to dig more trash than before. Just have to get a bigger trash container. Rick

Nice going Rick. That beach has humbled many metal detectors in the past.
