Default Chicago Night hunt total bust

After watching ChicagoRons youtube videos I went out to Chicago beach late at night. The sand is frozen so I had to go into the wet send and water. The tide is very very low. I would say in the summer it would be almost waist deep where I was standing today. I went along the beach and got bunch of signals, non stop. The only bad part it was all pull tabs! I pulled about 50 pull tabs, not even a single penny!

Should I move to a new beach?

Nice collection of pulltabs you found yourself there. Many of them look quite familiar.

I'm from the east coast and I guess I was spoiled by the giant beach cleaning tractors because Chicago beaches are seriously packed with trash. That and I think Ron and Mark got all the good booty lol.

If you look close at Ron's videos his "giving beach" has no buildings near it so it may be best to hit the more remote ones.

I have never hunted a Chicago beach, but look at your targets..all are very light weight, I would suggest going out further. I have found in most locations if your finding light stuff, spread out your pattern..either further out or up higher until you start finding heavier stuff. Look for objects of weight in sight, shells, rocks, or a discriminating pattern (something out of the ordinary, like black sand veins, or a drop off) One thing, Beach's change daily, if the beach your hunting has History, and is still in use today with crowds..the Gold is there, you just have to be there when she opens up.

Sorry, I missed what detector you are using?

I hunted a beach and was finding the same as you, pull tabs and bottle caps.I went about three steps deeper and no more tabs or caps but I did find 9 rings in 2 hunts there.Knee deep on this beach tabs and caps, waist deep rings and clad.Just as Oldbeechnut said it's there, you just have to find where or be there at the right time. Don't give up after one hunt. HH!

Thanks guys, its a CZ-21.
I cant really move up the beach, its all frozen. The only part that is not frozen is the really wet sand and the water. This is a very very packed beach in the summer.

I m going to try another beach tomorrow!

Default wave action?

Never been to the great lakes, are there big waves? How high/low is the tide difference? Seems like you're in an awesome spot to find goodies if there's not a lot of "redistribution" by mother nature. I say keep looking there.

Very small waves. Fresh water. Not much of a tide. Pretty much the perfect situation for beach hunting.
