Default Need Help with an ID! and a Nice Bottle.

I found the top of a broken milk white jar and I was wondering if anyone can ID the Companies Logo on the Lid. I also found the Cod Liver Oil bottle MDing where an old Inn used to be. I also found some broken dishes from England. Is it worth doing a little digging for more bottles? Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Nice finds!! I would give it a shot looking for more bottles..... They seem to be pretty old.

Default Not a bottle hunter, but .......

I do have a few choice finds. I love the raised letters on the older ones.
Sweet !

Default Scott

The scott emulsion bottles are cool. Some have a fisherman holding a big cod. The white jar with the lid might be a Ponds cream jar. Keep digging might be older stuff.

What I did is go to a local hardware store and buy a 3/8" metal rod about 3 1/2 feet long. Bend the end of it 90 degrees at about the 6" mark for a good handle and wrap it up in electrical or duct tape. Makes a good probe for bottles if you think you may have an old bottle dump area. Just shove it a foot or 2 in the ground every few feet until you hear a slight "tink" noise and dig em. I've dug 20 or 30 1910's bottles out of my ditch line using the probe.

Fred was right on the Ponds Cold Cream, and I think the "EP Co" is Empire Works or Empire Ware (or maybe they are associated?).

The Scott's is a Cod Liver bottle. They sell anywhere from 5 bucks to 30. Depending upon date made (late 1800s-1930's) and condition...Nice finds. Love the cold cream top.
