i'm just glad that the guy across the street was done with his leaf blowing on his sidewalk...or he would have witnessed something that should never be seen!
And its funny you mentioned the metal detecting gods, because i was in such a good mood, i stopped on my way home and picked up an extra gift for the wife, and on the tag i wrote that its from "the metal detecting gods"

haha.. Grats dude.

I'm a gamer on the computer.. MMO's.. and we have what we call the QQ factor, QQ represents 2 eyes with tears coming out. People in the game QQ (cry/whine) alot about how they never get that armor or weapon they want. Well.. whenever someone QQ's enough about not getting that weapon.. we have noticed that it will all of the sudden drop. That's the QQ factor.

Well... you QQ'd enough about that barber.. that it popped right out of the ground for you.. and it's a HALF!!

Did I mention how I never can find a gold coin? Waaaaah!

That an amazing find Hook! Congrats on the half. Sounds like you had a great hunt; not only the half, but the tokens too!

well Turt...its like this. I get a LOT of those type of tokens here , because we have an annual festival called Contraband days. Its a pirate based theme for a week long shindig that has events at the civic center..parades etc.

Then there's the mardi gras stuff here...same thing but a different theme. More dang 'doubloons" thrown verywhere lol.

Thos dang "doubloons" are thrown from the parade floats and end up all over town in yards, sidewalk strips, anywhere they can be lost in the grass.
And most of them ring up as 50 cents on the 250..or bounce between 25/50. They are a pain to find, because they always get my hopes up . But every now and then, like yesterday..it really IS a half dollar!
I have dozens of those tokens, and i throw a lot of them away. If you want a few ..just PM me and i'll be glad to send you a dozen or so !
HH all!!

I keep looking at your coin Hook and I feel a renewed sense of hope that their is a silver in my near future. I.was starting to think all the good ones are gone.

dude i'm tellin ya...you WILL find some soon! i am thinking monday, when we go hit the rest of that sidewalk strip. plus all the other sidewalks around that neighborhood than i havent even looked at yet. its comin !!! patience my big hearted huntin buddy!

PS everyone...i forgot to mention the fact that this barber half was only about 5 inches deep! way shallow enough to be found with any detector . makes me think that area's sidewalks are virgin ground :
