Dumb question, but what do you use in the tumbler to clean coins?
Is there something different for pennies vs clad?
The only experience I have had with a tumbler was cleaning machine parts. I know that what we used would be way to abrasive for coins.

I got the same tumbler 2 weeks ago at HF. for me, its been the best method for cleaning crusties off the beach. I use 1/8" aquarium gravel (half a tub full), 1/2 tsp simple green, fill with water to just above gravel line, let it spin for 5 hours.
I do pennies separate from the nickels, dimes, quarters.

aquarium gravel as in the red and blue kind you buy at a pet store?
I learn something new every day, even when I don't want to!
