Default Navy button date help?

My finds this weekend were very sparse, but I did come up with an interesting button. I believe it to be Navy, with an eagle perched on a horizontal anchor and surrounded by stars.

I have been checking my button reference books, but haven't located this one yet. I would appreciate any information or date estimates that can be provided. The back is very rough and won't be of any help.

Thanks!

That's a pre-1941 button as then the eagle was changed into facing right towards the wearer's sword arm.

I agree with Voriax,in one of my books there one similar and dates from the early1900,s to 1935.Is the shank still on it as it will help with the ID.Post a pic of the other side even if you think it wont help it could. Is the button concave or flat.what is that thing sticking out from the bottom of it.What size is the button

Looks very similar to the one I just posted recently but I don't think mine has the stars on it.

The style does look to be very close. Somehow i missed that post.

I have added photos of the front and back. The front has a "pushed in" look like it was squashed at some point. The rear is very very ugly.

I can't help with the ID of the button, but that sure looks like a nice keeper.
