I get junk foriegn coins too. The reason you see so many posts about silver finds is because there is such a large base of people here checking and reporting finds. I doubt that individual people are finding a lot.

It is a modern Korean 10 Won coin. The pagoda on the 10 Won coin is the one called Dabotap in Bulguk Temple, in the Gyeongsangbuk-Do city of Gyeongju. The temple itself is quite famous and the biggest one in this city that was once the capital of the Korean kingdom of Silla. This particular pagoda is Korea's National Treasure #20 and along with another pagoda, Seokgatap, located in the same temple, is very representative of Korean Buddhist pagodas and is protected as a precious cultural property.

It's a treasure hunt...and it's FREE!

I think I'm up to 10 countries now...at least 5 of them in the 2-cent euro's.

Canadian
Austrailian
Mexican

Those are top 3 in my finds.

Actually, after looking at it a bit more, I do believe it's a South Korean coin. T

Best I have ever gotten out of one of them is a dime that had some kind of gunk on it.

When foreign nationals open up mom'n'pop shops in this country, it's common for them to frame their "first dollar" and hang it on the wall (this isn't uncommon for americans to do either).

If we went over there and tried to do the same thing, our "first dollar" would be a 10-gallon pickle barrel full of these coins!!

I dunno, not any value there, but I think it's a cool looking coin.
