Default Kindle Fire

Pre-ordered one last week, its getting ready to be shipped. I couldnt pass up the $199 price tag for all the features it comes with. The woman likes to read books (almost 5 a month) and I like to sit back and browse the forum from my recliner. This will be a little more comfortable than my bulky laptop that I have to keep plugged in because the battery dies after 1 hour Plus with snow coming, Ill be stuck in the recliner a lot more

I have a regular e-ink Kindle with WiFi and 3G for downloads and love it. With the e-ink the batteries go about a month between recharges. It doesn't take the place of my laptop though.

I have been reading the specs of the Kindle Fire, and very impressed for the price. Almost like a mini Ipad. 8 gb of storage, video, music, web. This might be an early christmas gift to myself

Please give a review after you put it through it's paces.

I am thinking about getting one myself.

I have seen industry tear down reports that show that Amazon's price for the Kindle Fire is below their cost. Presumably, they hope to make up the difference in subscriptions, movies, etc.

This. Get one. Root it. Enjoy the 999,999 other uses besides reading books.

Was going to get a Kindle Fire, but the cloud storage only applies to stuff bought from Amazon. Since I'm more of an epub person, books are *ahem* easily acquired and loading it onto a nook is easier than coverting to Kindle's format.

Find a refurb Nook Color and root that baby!

Kindle Fire supports Adobe Flash Player, according to their web site.

Get the fire...get the amazon premium or whatever it's called...watch movies and tv shows for free, get super low shipping...add the amazon app store, hulu plus and netflix and win...if you are looking for a 10 inch tab, there are better built and less expensive ones than an ipad....also, if you ever want software/firmware upgrades, stay away from samsung....notoriously bad about updates.......the optimus prime that is coming out is going to blow everything poor there away......oh....and as was said before, rooting is good stuff.
