Default Rosie & Ring

And bad picture taking skills, sorry. Like my detecting, I'll get better with practice...Craig took me to one of his spots......but this time, he was on the money with his info...Not even 3 minutes and 20 feet from turning on the detector, the first hole I dug revealed a '48 Rosie!...[IMG][/IMG]... I went and found Craig right away and apologized for being a doubter...We went our own ways, I dug a nickle and 2 quarter pocket spill, some more clad, and a Wheatie. Ran into Craig after about a half hour, had a smoke, then he wandered off while I studied the area and decided to scan the rocky ledge about 10 feet away. Sure enough, bunch 'o' targets! Ended up digging about $1.40 in clad from a 3 foot area, then walked up a few steps to the top and scanned between 2 pieces of ledge. Right away, got a signal sounding and reading like a bottlecap, bouncy, but....I'm digging this, no doubt...Glad I did, because this ring was revealed 3 inches down, trapped from going any deeper by the ledge...[IMG][/IMG] At first, I thought it was a spoon ring, but it's not. Marked 'sterling', I'm figuring it's pretty old, and it's definitely a keeper, I'm not going to be the one to send it off for melt. Totals on the short day were $2.29 in clad, 2 Wheats, the '48 Rosie, the ring, and a good time hunting with a very skilled friend. Thanks for the invite, Craig!

Bruce is complaining about a beach I took him to but someone already beat us to that spot after the storm because we saw quite a few scoop holes... where I took Bruce today was a beach with a picnic grove... I played in the dirt for about 30 minutes before retiring the pinpointer and trowel for my beach scoop no bottlecaps in the wet sand and did pull a silver rosie... tomorrow after we work I'll take him to another spot... that is a great old ring Bruce congrats on it
