Default Half Dollar

So I'm pretty new to Metal Detecting. I have a Fisher F5 that I'm still learning. Yesterday was my best find so far. 1971 Kennedy Half Dollar.

Good find! I'm yet to find one of those after 6 months of hunting.
Congrats!

Found it in the backyard of my girlfriends’ house. It was a big surprise to me.

Default Half Dollar finds

Those Half Dollar finds come along every once in a while enjoy any you find old coins or new. People must lose those at night to not see them in the grass. I have found several Silver and Kennedy Clad. One just a week or so ago 1979

M6 Mike
convince me the Etrac or V3i is worth the extra $1,000.00 . If you are not getting down any deeper than 10 inches and finding a dime something is wrong or the coins are not there. I got a penny at 10 inches with my M6. I will go on record again My Eagle ll by Whites found dimes at 12 plus. Weak signals but I found them. The Eagle ll had a learning curve too as you could do all kinds of things with it to adjust it for hunting. And yes it had a screen and told the depth of the coin and was right on for a silver dime deep. I mostly used the preset menus. You could wave a target under the coil and discriminate it. The nicklecad battery pack was good for like 5 hours of hunting you wanted a back up pack with you. Maybe you could get 8 hours on a charge. I went at times from 8 am to 5pm or later in the evening hunting back in the 1980s with it .

I'm no coin expert but if you Google "US coin values" you can find sites that can answer those questions quickly.

Any clad half is worth 50 cents. I keep my clad halves since they're cool and so rare. I've dug as many silver halves as clad ones if that tells you anything.
