Default Rescued a Tribe Of Indians Before the Big Snow

Was able to get out for a short hunt, retuning to where I pulled some keepers the other day. Right away I was fortunate to hear a nice tone, revealing not 1 IH, but 4! !
2 have some kind of paper on them.
Wandered a bit and had strong copper tone, yielding the round item w/ strap loop on back... for horse equip?
Then back over where the coins have been, another IH sang out clear at 8 inches. Makes 7 IHs from a small area in 2 hunts.
Moving outward from there produced the high tone you like to hear, showing the '42 Washington.
Targets sound really good in this dirt.

This is after a hot oil dip. That 1900 came out sweet! ( three 1909 but no "s"!)
Just scratched a $1 scratch ticket w/ a Barber Quarter and won $50.00
Oh yeah and...

Very nice hunt...I'd love to find another IH penny someday. Only 1 so far. Sweet washington. Nothing like that sweet silver high tone on a minelab.

Love those Indians!

That spoked round thing in the first pic looks like a gyroscope flywheel.
What's on the face of the buckle?

Nice bunch of indians you found. I am thinking of getting a Etrac or V3i . But for now I can not jestify the purchase. I know it will take some good areas to search besides sidewalk strips in town. I have doubts it will pay for itsself doing that.

Default noob question

So the bucket is obviously a cleaning solution. My question is what is said solution? I want the bubbly like that, reminds me of vinegar/baking soda for stainless steel.

What's your "hot oil dip" solution? And how long you keep them in there for?

All that is in the pan is vegetable oil. First rinse the coins in water, let them soak for 5 min. then pat excess water off.
have the oil hot enough that it pops if u lightly spit in it. Caution is needed. place coin in hot oil for only a few seconds. if hot enough, moisture under the crud will boil off w/ snapping and popping. About 5 seconds, longer does not clean any better, and will discolor the coin. Remove from oil and place on napkin. Remaining crud should lift off w/ a toothpick. using caution near edges of coin as they tend to be weak.
The other way i have had good luck is w/ a toothbrush, water , and baking soda. slowly brush the crud and green away.
Good luck.

I just saw in Plainfield that they got 27.5 inches. We got about 15 here in Rutland. If all this snow melts at once, we'll all be water hunters!!

Nice digs Grampy!!
