Default Hunting at home

Anyone feel like they find more at their own home, than anywhere else?
I've yet to ask the owners of older properties, but so far my luck hasn't been so great elsewhere. My own yard has yielded 2 rosies, 2 warnickels, a nickel/silver pendant, about 8 wheats and an ink bottle. All are dated between 1940 and 1955 which makes sense because my house was built in 1951.

In the late 1800's to the 1930's, my entire block of ranchers was a single farm, but no relics from that date yet.

It DoES make me wonder though, how many of the hundreds of mid 20th century houses can yield some older coin! They aren't even in the old section of town!

It's needless to say that these recent finds have spurred me to ask old homeowners to let me hunt their land! Hopefully this weekend I'll get out for some REAL old hunting.

Look for pictures in the finds section soon!

Thanks!

It probably isnt so much of what is there now as it is what was there and how deep it is under the new soil added before the new construction. The house I live in is the oldest side of town, but I haven't found more than a few curiosities and a couple modern coin spills. Nearby historical structures date before 1890. The railroad track about 120 feet away from my side door was shown in a picture dated 1890.

I kind of burns me up that I haven't found anything older that the 60s in my yard so far.
