I finally got tired of waiting and returned it to the distributor (KellyCo) today. They said they'd just send a new one when they received my other one back. I didn't see your message until just now. Thanks though.

As it turned out the original reason for getting the MD was to confirm the existence of several historical structures/foundations on our property. Without the detector we searched the area where local folks told us to look. We began finding stuff immediately. We confirmed that there was a log cabin there at one time (pre-1881) and that it was likely destroyed by fire. (Burned wood, melted glass, some handmade door hinges, etc.) There is also (we're told) another burned house and a barn or workshop (pre-1900) which were either burned or otherwise destroyed. I can hardly wait to look WITH a metal detector.

After waiting for weeks and weeks Tesoro finally sent me a new MD! I put it together immediately and it works. Searching my pastures this weekend. That is all.

Carry on.

Hahahahahahha. Super! I feel compelled to do lord compadres bidding now! But seriously, I've been interested in swinging this little puppy for a while now. I'll have to pick him up someday soon and become an elite, like you!!

Took the C out today after work since the wife gave me a pass for my birthday I decided to do some cherry picking since I had only an hour. Discovered a setting which I have now call "dime mode". Cranked the dial all the way up and just dug the sounds that blew my ears off! 7 dimes and 4 mems later I was happy with digging no trash. Love to get out with my C.

Ha... I haven't read the whole thread yet, but I think I will wait for a relaxing afternoon, when I don't have anything to do for a couple of hours and read it.

I vote this.. as the greatest thread on this forum!
It's like the song that never ends..

Please sign the petition to have the Pope declare the compadre a "SAINT" due to all the testimonials of the miracles performed by this awesome little machine!

Can I get an A-MEN from the back row?

11 pages so far and over 12,000 views!
Just giving credit where credit is due.
I got mine from Skiwhiz last august.
As of today, I have found enough clad and jewelry to pay for it about 4 times over...and I don't use it on every hunt either because I have others.
I just love this little thing and it will never leave me.
Glad this innocent little thread has given so many so much joy.

(slides into the rear pew, late as usual)

Picked up my second Compadre. Never should have sold the first one! Anyways, went and ordered another one of the "best rain/dust covers made" from TreasurePlace on E-Bay. This one will be in "woodland camo."

Feels good to have another of one of the "best bang for the bucks" anywhere!

You sold one!
I can't fathom that!

Here is a pic of the latest great thing I found with mine.
I have been hitting some trashy spots lately so I have been cleaning them up with my F2 and eventually will go back with the Compadre and find all the tiny stuff and chains.
This was from last month.
I was in a small park, got a zinc signal and instead of a zincoln, dug up this key.
Attached to the key was a piece of string, but upon closer examination, not a string at all but a fine 14k gold chain.
This was cheating, any detector could have found that key, but the Compadre set down near iron picks up the chain by itself...most others find this hard to do.
I will never sell my Compadre...ever!

New law just passed in the state of Kansas (section 4 paragraph 17 page 459) any owners of a Tesoro Compadre must immediately "give" it back to the previous owner. Better hurry Digger, I think they know you have one .

It's easy to understand. People are so hung up on depth they never think about other things like iron-masking, circuitry design, and things like this that the super-dooper detectors sputter at. I've never heard of many people worrying if they missed a target a couple of inches deep-it's always about depth.

Depth is something I never worried about.
In Alabama, nothing got very deep because of the rotten soil, here in Kansas it is much better.
Still, I keep thinking that just about everything I have found in either location, silver gold, other jewelry, coins, even a few relics, have all been about 5 inches or less in depth.
