Default Old House Foundation in the woods, Including a Cold Storage

An Old House Foundation in the woods, Including a Cold Storage or Canning building...

I couldn't stand up straight in there, but I tried...lol

I date this homestead around 1900-1950 or possibly earlier.

This is the area that I found my first WWI button last fall.

Attachment 116173
Attachment 116174
It's a WWI Army great seal button circa 1914-1918 based on the maker on the backmark.

Thats pretty cool.. What was the round shiny thing in the video at 4:45 next to the stairs, it looked about the size of a silver dollar..

Monster, this place is in the "hollar/ ravine" behind my house. There is also a very early barn foundation and what I believe to be a horse barn foundation. You can see more of the relics I have taken from here on my blog in my sig

Only you guys wouldn't think I am crazy, but I actually plan to take a rake down there on my next hunt, and at least rake back all of the debris in the immediate area around the steps.

This is a trashy area obviously, but I think that I can cut through at least 2 inches of leaves and sticks/ soil that's on top of the ground and increase some depth that way.

^^^^ That sounds like a good idea, maybe some markers of some kind to keep track of the areas as you work'em. Fall is coming, rake one day covered with leaves the next..

Yes, this promises to be an exciting adventure for all of us... too bad you can't use a little napalm and clear that out all at once
