I got the audio cd by Tony Diana it helped me out. I use it as a refresher when I'm driving. It's called Basic Ear training for the Excalibur.

I'm not sure of any vids, but why not put an array targets (trash items and keepers) on the ground and listen to them yourself? That's what I did. The best way to learn is to actually use your machine out in the field. The more hours you use your machine, the better it will perform for you.

The only one you need to know is found by gluing a nickel inside the toe of your boot. Also just dig all targets

I assume by saying this the nickel gives almost the same tone as gold? Maybe I will glue a gold ring in my boot since I have so many.

You could do that if you wish however you might find the nickel more comfortable & that is exactly what I am saying

I wish you could have heard this signal today. I didn't dig it right away....It sounded so pretty I just kept passing the coil over it and thinking "ahhhhh...that sounds really good!"
2 gold rings
2 gold heart charms
1 gold cross
1 gold chain

I will have to record it and put a sample of the sound on the net. It reminds me of a cat purring!

Happy Hunting!

Maybe a gold toe ring on my foot? heheee!! Does the nickel mimic the tone of gold on the excal? I did not know just tried to put 2+2 together.

Default Sounds

I'm new to the excel and I have to also agree that getting out there as much as possible and really listening to the tones. Don't just hear them. LISTEN to them. I had an Ah ha! moment the other day when I dug back to back pull tabs and not a foot away I had another tone that was just a little different than the last two. It was only a dime, but the difference was clear ( at least in that scenario when I had those three targets so close) When in doubt, just dig.

WOW, what a mother lode! All items were on the chain? that is sweet. I know someone is still crying from that loss.

I guess I know some tones pretty good now. I know I got a penny before I dig it up, but I still feel I have to dig it up anyways cus it could be a ring. I did actually dig 5 null signals today just to see what I was missing out on. Unfornetly not nuthin.
