Default Had a good year, so far...

Saw Digglers gold ring post a few minutes ago so I am inspired.

Last year, my first, I went out all the time, tons of hours put into digging and learning.
Had a bad detector for the first 3 months, finally got a great one, (Vaq), then another great one for a backup,( F2), and had a fantastic time as I slowly learned to use them.
Found about $120 in clad, a couple of silver dimes, even a few silver and tiny gold rings, and a bunch of other cool stuff for the year.

This year, due to life stuff and the super hot weather, I have cut my hunting time way back to about one 1/2 day a week, but armed with a little more knowledge I have still managed to still find about $90 in clad so far, a huge amount of medallions, pins and other knick knacks, some very cool jewelry and a great big and rare 1922 token.
Also enough trash to fill a dump truck.

Adding the Compadre to the mix, recently, has been fun and productive too.

What a great hobby!
Fun when you start out and don't know much, and it gets better and better as you learn.

Just wanted to do a little inventory and post some pics of a few of my best finds in one place for the year.
The year ain't even over yet, either.

Get out and dig, guys.
Learn your machine and pick good spots to hunt and most of all, I hope you enjoy digging anything you find half as much as I do.

I LOVE THIS HOBBY!

HH

I pulled that *exact* flower ring (except mine came out of the ground broken). What's the chances!

Great collection there, congrats on the good year so far!

Good inventory. That token is very cool. "Good as $1.00 cash for purchase of $10 or more only during 1922". That's a lot of money for back then!!!! I try to go one day a week and can't complain. All my finds are valuable to me!!! It ain't over till the ground freezes!!!!

Hey Digger27, I would buy that dogwoog ring in a heartbeat if you ever decide to sell it. I have the matching earrings from my vacation to N.C. a few years ago. If you remember, I'm the one who IDed it for you, if that helps you think about selling it to me. : ) I hope the rest of your season goes as good or better than what you've done so far!

I've 'talked' to Digger27 by PM and he's going to sell me the ring! Here are my earrings that match. I got them while in Asheville, N.C. a few years ago. Thanks, Dave. I'll be stylin' now! : )

Not a bad year at all! Still got a couple months left before the snow hits out this way.

Looks like you're having a great year! That token's a beauty.

I can't imagine having 3 detectors by my 2nd year - although that would be a dream for me. You seem to really enjoy the technical aspect of the hobby, which for me wasn't as important at first, but now I'm getting very interested in different coils / detectors.

Way to go, and keep all that good info. coming!

Hey, kind of a perfect match, I would say!
I dug the ring at a soccer field in...Asheville NC!

Small world.

Love that token!
A couple of token sites had pictures of another one from another city posted, and they mentioned this one, but not one picture was posted on any site anywhere online...till I posted mine!
I assume it's a very rare one, and it is one of my favorite finds so far.

I actually have 4 detectors now, but my Pioneer Ex is best forgotten.
I buy detectors to fill different needs, and I will keep them forever, no selling.
Wait till I get a V3i...maybe then this upgrade madness will end!
Then of course I don't have a water machine yet.....
