Pull tabs, pennies and stuff. Most common good finds are silver rosies. I get at least 1 a month. Sometimes several.

Mostly dimes, pennies, tabs, clad mostly since that's what I end up with more often than not...the usual trash...Peace of mind, relaxation, QUIET, inner peace

Since I'm always in woods looking for civil war relics, unfortunately my most common finds are shotgun shell caps. I can't not dig them cuz they sound so good. They are all old too but it's just not the same as finding cw lead and relics.

Wheat(18) and Indian(9) pennies are the most common coin finds at the site I'm currently working...By far, my most common MD find is a good time, no matter where I'm hunting or what the dirt's giving up.

Yea, I know what you mean there! They always sound so good and then... another one for turtelfoot, LOL. I do have a couple more rare ones, it's kinda neat to pull out the odd guages and brands every now and then.

I seem to find a lot of rosies for my silver coins too, though I have a fair number of washington's too. Guess we need some older sites, I'm still looking for a barber!

I do like finding horse tack, being a horse person myself. even though it's worthless, the untilitarian aspect is kinda cool. Knowing someone made it and used it regularly.

The two extremes, yin and yang, LOL. I wouldn't mind digging some more tabs if I had a few more good CW sites!

Rings on the beach and old coins in the hills. Of course I'm also happy to find clad on the beach and other relics in the hills. At the beach my most common finds are 10-yen copper coins...in the hills I don't find a lot of any one particular item...it's always a mixed bag!

Currently looking for the local fort site. It has a monument and gets visitors year round, but no one (including fort experts) around believes that is the exact site. It was burned to the ground and never rebuilt. Gotta a hot lead but am waiting on crop harvest to access the fields.

At this point I still enjoy digging the old flat buttons. Still better than a bagful of corroded square nails.

Don't give too much credit to the detectors because it's much more about the sites. My friend and I are heading out with our explorers this morning and our day's success will almost totally depend on what we find for sites. If you were to guarantee me a fantastic site with the condition I had to use a low end unit and leave my explorer home I would definitely do it.

You put us all to shame, LOL

Well I don't know about that but will be hunting hard today to try and shame a few.

I'm in an old area with lots of sites, detected over many years, and don't have too much competition, so the deck is stacked in my favor. That having been said it's not always easy, we have put in our time swinging, and I usually put some effort into researching before every time out. Today's hunt has 2 hours of brain storming behind it so we'll see if it works out.

I primarily hunt for coins -- with silver coins being my ultimate goal. I dig every signal that even "hints" that it might be a coin. Subsequently, the most common find that isn't trash is the lowly Lincoln cent--I've dug thousands of them, as have probably most of us. Buttons, shell casings, fishing weights, "Hot Wheels"-style cars, and jewelry (most of it junk) rounds out the list of most frequently encountered items.

I mainly hunt in woods that was heavily logged in the late 1880's or so. My most common, non-junk find that I get seems to be railroad spikes. I'm getting enough that they are almost "junk" finds to me. They are old and have history, but there are so many that they are like pull tabs to you park hunters. The old logging rails were pulled up and the spikes were tossed everywhere.

What gets my blood pumping...Headstamps!

What do I say "Not another one!" -- Railroad spikes.

I search for sanity. The hum of that threshold is like the mantra of meditation. I lose all worrys when I put on my headphones and flip that switch on. All finds are just bonues.

My most common finds are clad quarters. I disc out pennies/pulltabs...theres no old gold rings in a newer playground. I hope for gold/silver jewelry that gets me happy.
