Default Coil Cable Tape Job

Whats the recommended way to tape/tie or secure coil cable along shaft?

Do you start to wrap at bottom of coil and then tape/tie further up or tape it first then wrap?

Most just spiral wrap it up the shaft. Don't have to tie or tie anything.

Yup, use a couple of velcro strips to help secure the cable to the shaft near the ends.....

Secure it at the bottom where your coil flexes and leave just enough play in the wire so it doesn't put a strain on the coil wire if your coil moves around... you can secure it every foot or so but that's up to you...

I use this stuff. The more I use it the more I like it. In my opinion no emergency detector repair kit should be with out it. No sticky residue. No Velcro straps. I just bend my coil all the way up and leave the slack in the cord for it to do it again. That is in case I fall or something. Then I just secure the wire to the shaft with 1 five inch piece of this tape. I then twist the cord around the shaft the rest of the the way. If I am hip or Chest mounting this tape really comes in handy. I just secure the cable straight up the shaft about every 8 inches.

And when you want to take this stuff off all you need to do is slice the back of it and it pops right off.

Some pictures of the tape. I was always taught to leave enough slack in the wire for the coil to bend all the way back up.
