Found this nice little crotal bell the other day 1500-1700

We find quite a few of these in the UK Waterman, but they aren't always
complete. They come in a variety of styles and sizes.

I'm told more are found in the south of England, than the north, not sure
why.
I think one of the main uses was as harness decorations, when horses
were used to pull the ploughs.

They are also sometimes refered to as "Rumbler Bells"

These are really a nice find. I never even knew what one of these were, till I started coming to the forums. Nice find indeed.

Thats right alan,we find a lot of them here in the south.This one is not complete but i found one yesterday complete and in working condition.They were used for sheep and goats amongst other things.The real fancy ones were worn by jesters.
