Awhile back I had posted pics of an old token that I had found in my back yard and an Axe Head found at a 18th century trading post. I decided to try and clean them up a bit with my electrolysis setup. The token I put in for about 4 minutes and now I can read the following " All Quality Mints" " Good For A 5c Package of Mints". The axe head I had in the setup for about 2 days total. It still looks rough but is much easier on the eyes now. My setup is an old ceramic pot, Car Battery charger. I used long bolts as my one anode, real cheap and last a long time. I used salt and lemon juice for the solution.

Looks like you can get more off that axe head - if you tap it lightly with a hammer repeatedly it should knock that stuff off. The electrolysis probably already separated most of it from the metal - now it's loose and will come off very easily.
