Default The problem is...

People are so trashy, they are ruining this hobby for everyone! I had to just laugh at how trashy this park I did yesterday was. Near the rocks people must have congregated. There was layers of broken glass when I dug. Bottle caps, broken glass.
It really just amazes me how people don't clean the parks and this rubble just accumulates and gets sucked into the ground.

If people weren't such slobs this hobby would be much better

I need to start carrying a bag or nail pouch. Been just using my pocket. Putting pieces of canslaw in their isn't always fun. Even the older pull tabs.

Nail pouches are just a couple of bucks or free from the right lumber yard.

I collected enough pop tops, pull tabs and bottle caps to power the flux capacitor.

I was near Morgan Wyoming at a tiny, tiny, place called Ayres Natural Bridge out in the boonies and a mile off the old Oregon Trail. Beautiful trout stream running under a natural bridge of rock with free dry camping for a few campers. The natural rock wall at the northern end of this tiny park had graffiti written on the rock wall that rose straight up 300 feet had lots of glass and metal fragments between the rocks at the base of the wall. This wall in the curve of the river was less than a hundred yards long and shaped like a C. Seems this whole oasis was a refuge from Indian attacks during the early pioneer days and along that wall is where everyone camped. The Indians had a superstition since a brave was killed by lightening in the 1800's so they would not go there. The trash and graffiti is from that date. The grouchy old man there said nobody ever cleaned up that !!!!. WHAT? Oh, I said maybe it has value and he walked off. There were signatures and stories written on the wall (thousand or more) from 1920's and earlier. Man, wish I had a detector then. There were very old tin containers laying under the cliff on the surface. There has to be some great things in the ground there. Actually, there were great things on top of the ground. If you live in WY, tell me if you have detected there before. This place needs to be preserved. But not until I go back. Lots of places around this spot to get relics. I would say this might me GOOD graffiti. Lots of history here for all to see on that rock face wall from more than a hundred years ago. I thought it was so cool. Don't tell anyone.

Humans are filthy creatures that if left unattended would all die of cholera because they'd poop next to their water supply. They are inherently lazy and without a deadline or a dictator holding a gun to their head, nothing would ever get accomplished. Litter in the park is just a peep show at how careless humans are.

DON'T BE HUMAN! BE BETTER!

Reminds me of waiting for my wife in the car while she was in the store. I observe all kinds of stuff. Well I see this guy drop his wife off and then proceed to drive around to park. At the same time this lady and her 2 kids come out, get in the car. One of them must have finished a bottle of juice or something. The lady tosses it out. Just as this guy is about to pull into a spot. He sees her and tells her to pick it up. She then kind of refuses and the guy goes on about your the reason places are dirty. Basically saying like come on pick it up. She comes back with, your scaring my kids. He was not rude or anything. He just told her to pick it up. She did end up picking it up, I wouldnt' be surprised if it got tossed out elsewhere in a parking lot. He pulls into the spot right near me and I looked over and shook my head in regards to the hassle that lady gave.

I've seen so many times also driving down the highway, people toss burger wrappers out. It's just sickening. The earth won't last forever if it continues to get abused.

You should have seen the park I went to yesterday.

Nothing but pull tabs, bottle caps and foil.

Default If

If people weren't slobs we would have nothing to detect. I have found that here in the fields in Germany(I'm American by the way)if something is below 4-6 inches it is normally a keeper of some sort.

The Roman Army figured that one out. One reason they managed to take over so many countries.......

I did a week at hampton beach in new hampshire last week, and I got a full bag of cans/trash every day. and only got 5$ in newly dropped clad and a charm bracelet.

the trash really discouraged me from hunting more while I was there, and the 100+ degree weather didn't help either
