I was going Thrift Store hunting and came across a few pieces that said Eales 1779 SilverPlate, and leonard Silver Plate... I don't know anything about them.. Are they silver or silver plated??? They look tarnished to. I just don't want to buy them if there not what Im looking for. They ranged from $2-$6 bucks each. Any info would be great!!! Thanks!

Plated, I do the same thing at thrift stores alot of time with that stuff they are stamped with the companies name and date it was founded. Most likely a later product that was plated not silver. But you can always try to look it up and see if you can find the company. Learned that the hard way..LOL
