Happened to me once or twice too. I learned to keep that coil far enough away from my boots. Well, wont have to worry about that till it gets cool again. At least you caught on some guys go a very long time before they catch on, probably the cause for alot of the MDers you see on Craig's List and at garage sales

Yep, and don't pull dirt out of a hole with your ring hand while pinpointing with the right.

I just started to leave my ring in the car.

Don't feel bad, I was ready to wrap my MD around a tree one day because it wouldnt stop beeping until I set in on the ground. Couldnt figure out why the MD was acting up and I was getting so peeved. Finally figured out that I was holding my shovel too close to the coil everytime I swung and when I set the MD down, obviously, it was far enough away to not pick up the shovel.

I leave mine on the night stand by the bed before even leaving the house anymore.

And if you do wear your ring, the first time you are splitting a plug and see the bottom of your own ring mixed in the dirt (while on your finger)....dont get all excited like I did!

Wife; Why aren't you wearing your wedding ring?

Husband: When I wear it it cuts of my circulation.

Wife; It's supposed to........ ;-)

My father in law does not wear a wedding ring cause he is an electrical engineer, I do not wear one cause I install what he designs!
