Arrow Absolute Best Find

I have seen some pretty cool treasures found by the talented members on this site. I would like to see if we could get a compiliation of "Best Finds" from each member. I think it would really be a cool thread. Pictures would be very much appreciated! One treasure or cache per member, can be updated if you score a better find. Let's try to keep this to finds from one hole. Doesn't neccessarily have to be the most valuable, but the treasure you take the most pride in. Hopefully soon I can add to this list Post away!

Best coin is my 1879 silver dollar.

Best relic is my argulette - it stuck in a cannon fuse hole to keep the enemy from shooting you with your own cannon. It was bent inside & outside to stop the function. steve in so az

Default best finds at one farm site

I found all these at one farm site! My actual total from about a 20 by 20 ft area was 12 Morgans (dates between 1889-1903), 1 1921 peace dollar, 6 1964 Kennedy halves, 6 1971 Ike silver dollars (two of which were in the mint package) and 5 war nickels, not to mention about 60 wheats including a 1909 "s", and a Mint package proof set from 1971.

I found this Civil War cavalry button, in a pasture where some Civil War activity was. It was made by T. Miller in Houston Tx. from 1863-1865. They are rare and worth a fair amount. I use it for my avatar.

My best find to date is an 1891 (O) seated dime I found where my great grandparents farmhouse used to stand. I doubt I will ever find anything to top how I feel about that dime!

Rev war button found in 2001. Was extremely rare at the time and is very likely still the best known example. As far as I know that is the case among the biggest American private collectors, and at the time the only example shown in books was property of the New York Historical society. (This one is far better - and I currently own three that are also better) I'll never forget the answer from the first major collector I sent a picture to... he said "The Detecting Gods have smiled upon you." Finding that button is definitely one of the best memories I have.

PS... I struck out twice trying to find the site but believed the map (Dated 1800) was right and there had to be something there. Turns out it as just a small patch of iron in a very large area and my third try was the charm. I also found a nice CT copper which servers as a good memento from that day.

Here's my best - found in December last year. I'm still a newb so I really love this find. It's an 1848-O half dollar. Also in nice condition so makes it extra special.
