Default 1901 catholic school silver

Headed to my hometown this morning and searched an apartment building (built 1901) that was originally a catholic school. I was told I'm the 7th person to hunt the yard so I wasn't too sure if I would find much. I did great though, got my first barber dime 1913, 1942 Washington quarter, 1964 Washington quarter in great shape, a 1944 wheatie, a 1949 wheatie, and $5.55 in clad.

Today I had the pleasure of hunting this site with 44bulldog and fellow forum member Mike1961. It was great to meet Mike, he seemed to have a good time! I'd also again like to thank Chad for the opportunity to hunt with him, this old Catholic school is awesome!

Here's my totals for the day. In the backyard, at 5 or 6 inches depth, out popped an old copper case that appears to be gold plated. It is decorated nicely and adorned with the image of the Virgin Mary! Inside was a necklace...might it be an old rosarie? Also found 2 silver dimes, 6 wheats, some assorted nick-nacks, and around $4.50 worth of clad. Just a really awesome day

Met a couple other forum members today and we hunted the old catholic school again as well as the current school. First I found a copper container that looked like it could possibly be a change purse but unfortunately there was nothing inside. I wasn't having much luck until I hit paydirt in the garden. I found a pretty worn 1901 barber dime, 1920 merc, 1957 rosie, 1900 indian, and several wheats. Mike and Paul thanks for the great hunt.

It was a great hunt with 44Bulldog and blk86trbo and an excellent location. Thanks for the invite guys, I really enjoyed the hunt. Congrats on the silver. Those are some nice finds. I really thought that old coin purse might have something in it. That old school is a nice spot and I bet there is still more there.

My F2 could not keep up with the E-Tracs and I did not find any silver but got some nice clad and, more importantly, got out and hunted and met a couple of other forum members. They are good guys and I look forward to hunting with them again.

Here is my haul of clad for the day. Sorry for the poor quality photo, I used my phone.
