Default Tot Lot Cache

I think that this past Fourth of July holiday must have added another layer of bottle caps in the local park. They read almost like quarters on my detector. (The rusty ones do) I finallymoved to a little used tot lot to get away from them. I found some clad and then a cache. I wish that I would have had my camera with me. In the sand there must have been forty or fifty .................................................. ...............................bottle caps!

I hear ya. The tot lot near my house is pull tab city!!! When I hit it this morning, there was a nice, almost new frisbee laying on one of the benches. Nobody around. I thought, "If I ignore the frisbee, maybe I'll be rewarded with a nice find!"

Scored a star shaped pendant with a fake diamond........o well. (They have video cameras in our parks to deter the sick-o's who prey on small kids)

I don't know what everyone is talking about when they mention finding tons of bottle caps and pull tabs.

What I find the most of and what reads as something worth digging are the stupid pieces of ...... FOIL!

I find foil everywhere and all sizes and shapes. Much more than pull tabs or bottle caps.

For me it is melted cans and firearm brass. Granted I can sell the brass when I get enough of it, but still it does ring close enough. Also the newer nickles dont ring the same as the older ones, Im guessing they have that yummy zinc center now.

ha ha most of the totlots I hunt associated with schools are pretty clean of trash, but what I do find is tons of jackets! some have as many as 10 to 15 laying in the mulch...In the past I have been checking the pockets and then hanging them up on the play equipment, but I think I will start stacking them up, and when I am through haul them all to the house..wash them up and then when the church has a bazaar will offer them for sale...if no one buys them then will give to Good Will during their late Fall coat drive, might get a tax write off for them!

Found a new small adult jacket at the last totlot I hunted....it was hanging on a fence...so I washed it and it fits my son....that's 20 bucks I did not have to spend to buy him a new jacket for this fall!

Now park totyards are full of junk here, cause the adults there with their kids are really trashy folks...beer cans, BL caps, etc.
