Default Another Auvio WiFi headphone question:

So I went down and bought a pair of these Auvio wireless headphones too, I'm trying to use them with my E Trac but they make no sound at all. Transmitter is fully charged and new batteries in the headphone. I have the stereo adapter and the headphones work fine on my TV. I tried them on my Fisher F5 and they have a faint sound in one side only no matter what I do. Tried on my Tesoro and normal sound in one side only, tried on my BH and has fuzzy quiet sound that gets erratic and louder if I jiggle the jack around. Maybe I have a bad jack adapter??? It's brand new too. I'm really bummed out these dont work on the E Trac. Was looking forward to going wireless. Any suggestions???

I had the same problem with mine on my three old detectors( Fisher 1266X, Garrett Freedom II Plus and A Garrett Grandmaster) I had to make another 1/4" to 1/8" adapter and add a 10 ohm resistor in parallel to make mine work. I just posted it in another thread. I would think you'd have the problem with the E-trax since it is a digital detector. do you have another adapter? You might try pulling the transmitter out slightly while listening to the headphones and see if the audio increases.. you prob have a bad jack..

I don't have another adapter yet, and when I plug the transmitter into the adapter with the detector on, I can hear a slight click in the phones. I also noticed that with the wireless plugged in and on I can hear slight audio coming from the detectors external speaker. I hope I can make these things work! I really like the idea of wireless phones!

some have posted where they still have audio from the speaker with headphones plugged in.. seems the posts said that they used and in volume control between the transmitter and the jack and that fixed their problem. That fixed the impedance mis-match for them

if you have a plain jane black 1/8" to 1/4" adaptor the first thing i would do is change it to the gold plated 1/8" to 1/4" stereo adaptor. if that doesn't seem to correct it then add the inline volume control extension from radio shack part # 42-2559 which cost under 10 bucks. that should correct it. its very strange because my GTI doesn't need the volume contol to function properly but the AT requires it.

Problem solved: Just had a bad adapter jack. Replaced it with the gold one and they work fine now. Cant wait to go try them out!
