Default Atlantic City Beach replenishment to start Monday

I was Browsing Surfdiigger's Facebook page and saw the link. His Facebook page is a wealth of information for Southern Jersey beach hunting by the way.

So it looks like Atlantic City will be no good for some time to come.

Thinking I'll go down today just to hit it one more time before the ruin it.

This was originally planned for the spring but then the corp put it off until fall. So, something changed in the plan. I think the contractor BSed them in the spring.

So...there dredging up sand from off shore and dumping it on the beach. I'd detect that! Am I missing something here?

I hit the beach in AC last night. The dredge is still in the Inlet north of the beaches. The producing beaches will probably be replenished this week.

The hunting conditions on the the two big hunting beaches, Iron beach and Octy are horrible. Extremely sanded in. I hunted the dry - found clad, a cheap watch, and because it's still AC regardless of conditions, a 1912 Barber in great condition.

Where else can you do a dry sand hunt and come up with 100 year old silver coins on almost every hunt? By this time next week those days will be over until the next big storm season.

Check the beach anyway, there were a lot of wrecks off the shore of NJ. A long time ago the coast line of NJ was many miles from where it is now and I read an article about ancient arrow heads that were dredged up from the ocean and deposited on a NJ beach. It can't hurt to check, odds are there will be nothing but you never know.HH!

Thats what I was thinking. Wouldnt that sand have been impossible to detect before??? Who knows what could be in there!!!Might even be a fishing sinker!!
