Default just received my Tesoro Compadre, book mentions coil scuff cover???

Do I need to purchase one of these or is it already on there?

I had to buy mine separate. I think I saw a deal somewhere where they included a coil cover as a "freebie". Normally the Compadre comes without one......

I agree. But I know I saw it offered from SOME dealer and it struck me as strange since Tesoro doesn't work like that.....

I checked the company in question (not a sponsor of FMDF) and they've pulled their free coil cover offer......

I would have to hear that straight from the horse's mouth to believe it is against the rules for a free coil cover. Yes I know if Tesoro says you have to sell there detectors @ X amount of $$$ but I see no reason for any problems if a dealer tosses in anything they want. I have bought many a Tesoro's new & used and have had everything from diggers to headphones tossed in on the deal from more than one dealer. I always remember what one of the dealers told me years ago- "I have to sell a Tesoro at such & such a price and no higher or any lower but if I wanted to I can give you a Tesoro for free without breaking any rules". This is got me curious if I don't forget I might call the nice lady @ Tesoro and ask if a dealer can "legally" give any free items with a purchase of their detectors. Steve.

I stand corrected, not the 1st. time I was wrong & I am sure it won't be the last. My apologies. Steve.

For some reason, the Compadre is one of the few that doesn't come with a coil cover.

Not sure why.

But I highly recommend getting one.

Yeah i just got comparde today and no cover.

I used a beanie hat that i tired to make into a ski mask when i was younger fits decently and protects coil from foreign objects.

Is this a must have? What can I use as a coil cover? I bought a pin pointer and digger and I want to start digging stuff up. It stinks to be held up by such a small item.

As long as you are careful you don't have to have a coil cover, if you don't scrub you coil on anything abrasive you are good to go.

I've always used a coil cover on my Compadre. I'm def. OCD when it comes to my electronics and want that coil as close to the ground as possible without scuffing it!

my Compadre came without the coil cover here in Europe too, so I immediately search for one on ebay

It's highly recommend for coil protection so it gives peace of mind

I just bought my 2nd coil cover for my Compadre yesterday. The rocky ground around here really eats them up.....
